It is with great sorrow that I am posting this. My father, Brian Sutton, passed away yesterday,
February 23, 2010. He was a good man, a devoted husband, father, and friend. I know he will be missed by many.
We love you, Dad. Rest in peace until we see each other again.

TIME FOR CHRISTIANS TO STAND UP FOR OUR RIGHTS!
In Chelmsford, Massachusetts, the local school authorities have decided to remove all vestiges of Christmas celebration, even Santa Claus and candy canes, from the school. The authorities there stated that it was their job to educate the children, not brainwash them with religion. Needless to say, the vast majority of the parents of the students have protested this action, even to the point of threatening a lawsuit.
In one segment of the story, they showed tape from a community meeting at the school. One mother suggested that any student would be able to put up any symbols of other religions so that the school would not just be celebrating the Christian holiday of Christmas. Another woman countered that this would not work as it would be impractical to try to represent every possible religious view. But that is not what was suggested. The first mother suggested letting any student represent alternative religious celebration if they chose to do so. Unless this class is the most religiously diverse class in history, I seriously doubt that there would be a need to represent every viable religion in the world. And this diversity of religion could be a learning experience for the children, thereby meeting the goal of educating, not brainwashing, the students.
The question is, whether you are talking about a school or a courthouse or any other public property, WHEN DID THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS, WHO BELIEVE IN GOD AND JESUS, LOSE THEIR RIGHTS TO PRACTICE THEIR RELIGION FREELY AND WITHOUT GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE?!?!
The first article of the Bill of Rights states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." What does this mean?? It seems pretty straightforward and clear to me, but it has been a source of real conflict and confusion in our country for about the last half century. Somehow, somewhere, our courts have taken a stand to completely separate government and religion, but that is not what was written in our Constitution. Our founding fathers, most of whom were practicing Christians, never intended that religion would be removed from government. Their intent, clearly, was to see to it that the government could not, and would not, establish a National religion, or favor one religion over another. To interpret the Bill of Rights and the intent of the founders of this country in any other way is just stupid.
OK, so we are not all going to agree on this subject. Whatever happens to majority rules. I believe in Jesus Christ as being the Son of God and my Savior and Redeemer. I believe in One God Almighty, the Creator of all we are and all we have. Under our Constitution, I am allowed to believe as I wish, just as others, who disagree with me, are allowed to believe what they choose and worship, or not worship, as they see fit. I have no problem with this view. Live and let live. This is what our Constitution is all about...the individual having free thought and free expression without fear of government interference or persecution. This belief was one of the underlying principles that prompted the Pilgrims to brave the mighty Atlantic Ocean to come to Plymouth Rock in order to escape religious persecution in Europe.
But when did we confer on the minority the right to tell the majority when and where they could or could not practice their religion freely. I think that this situation has basically been the product of the old adage that tells us the squeaky wheel will get the grease. One atheist threatens to sue over Christmas decorations in a school or courthouse and the powers that be fold like a house of cards to avoid legal problems. We have all seen it happen at one time or another.
Well, fellow Christians and other people of religious faith, I say it is time that we reverse this trend and start taking back our rights to practice our religion freely at any time, in any place! FROM NOW ON, WHEN ONE PERSON OR SMALL GROUP TRIES TO INFRINGE ON OUR RIGHTS BY THREATENING LAWSUITS, LET'S GATHER OUR MAJORITY AND BRING REAL PRESSURE TO BEAR ON THE COWERING DECISION MAKERS WHO HAVE COWTOWED FOR TOO LONG TO THIS LOUD MINORITY WHO WISH TO BRING THEIR WILL TO BEAR ON ALL OF US!
Think about it for a minute. If a school principal is afraid of a lawsuit brought by one person, how would that principal react to a lawsuit coming from the other side where 200 or 500 or 1000 people were suing to PROTECT their rights of free exercise of religious beliefs and free expression of those beliefs. Which way do you think your school boards and administrators and mayors and town managers going to go, once they are faced with that type of choice. IT IS TIME FOR ALL PRACTITIONERS OF FAITH TO STAND UP AND SHOUT, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!"
And how about stores and shopping malls who are so concerned with offending non-Christians by using the word CHRISTmas instead of the more generic Happy Holidays. Currently, approximately 77% of Americans consider themselves to be Christian. So, perhaps we Christians should show the stores and malls of America that, instead of worrying about the other 23%, maybe they should concern themselves more with NOT offending the 77% of us who view the upcoming holiday as the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Maybe we should show those stores and malls that, unless they want to give real recognition to this holiday, they need not worry about us doing our CHRISTMAS SHOPPING IN STORES THAT GIVE NO RECOGNITION TO CHRISTMAS!! If we did this, how long would it take the stores to change their advertising and their policies where Christmas is concerned?? NOT LONG, I GUARANTEE IT!!
Therefore, in closing, I want to encourage all Christians and practitioners of other religious beliefs to stand up for their rights and bring America back to the founding principles that have made this the greatest and most free country the world has ever known.

Mr. President, Tell My Why?
Mr. President, could you please explain the reasoning you have used in allowing your Attorney General to hold the terrorist trials of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM) and others in a civilian court in New York City?? I listened to AG Eric Holder testify before the Senate several days ago concerning this decision and I heard him say that KSM does not get to choose the venue of his trial, but rather he (AG Holder) would make that decision and he had done so. However, given the uproar that this decision has caused, one is forced to believe that such a decision would not have been made without your approval. So I ask you, President Obama, why are you doing this to our country? What is there to be gained by such a move and at what cost?
We already have heard AG Holder state that he is confident that he has plenty of evidence to get a conviction and, ultimately, the death penalty for KSM's crimes. However, if we are going to accord KSM all the rights of an American civilian facing criminal charges, then there are some real questions to be addressed. Questions of coercive interrogations are going to put an obvious taint on much, if not all, of the information obtained from KSM. Now, my understanding is that KSM was ready to plead guilty before a military tribunal and face sentence for his crimes. Given that fact, what does a trial in New York City get for the American people that we don't already have? To give KSM and his cohorts and lawyers the chance to bad mouth America on a world stage is nothing short of STUPID...unless, of course, you wnat this kind of negative publicity for the country you supposedly love and are sworn to protect. It is even possible that, given the rules of evidence in a civilian court, that KSM could be acquitted of the charges against him and go free. What benefit to we gain that makes taking that chance a good gamble?
Another consideration is the monetary cost of such a trial. Tell me, Mr. President, how many millions of dollars of TAXPAYER MONEY will be spent on this whole process, when you take into account all the legal fees, including all appeals, all the money for additional security in the courthouse, the extra security in general that will be required in New York City and all the other items that will be a necessary expense for this extravaganza. It would seem to me that, before you spend those hard earned tax dollars to get a conviction for a criminal who already wants to confess, you should consider the wishes of those of us who will foot the bill, THE TAXPAYERS. And, as I am sure you know, Mr. President, several well known polls have already shown that the public is against this decision.
Given these considerations, one is forced to wonder what your real agenda is here. Do you really believe that this trial, in this setting, is really in the best interests of this country? Or is this the manifestation of a desire to politicize this matter as a means of putting the Bush administration on trial in an attembt to deflect criticism for your own poor political record as president thus far?
It is time, Mr. Obama, for you and your left wing liberal friends to get past their fixation on the perceived mistakes of the Bush administration and quit trying to keep bringing the country backwards in hopes that this action will somehow propel your administration forward by favorable comparison. DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND IN THE BEST INTEREST OF AMERICA, MR. PRESIDENT, AND CHANGE THIS DECISION FOR THE GOOD OF EVERYONE INVOLVED.

And Obama's Hits Just Keep On Coming!
Hey, President Obama, congratulations on another stunning policy success!! Yes, I am certain that bringing Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the 911 mastermind, to the courts of New York City instead of those stodgy old military tribunals will turn out to be one more, in a long line, of stunning policy successes. Not only will this decision result in millions of dollars being spent for the security of such a trial, but it will also open New York City to heightened levels of danger. I am sure most New Yorkers will agree that it has gotten a little dull in town, so this excitement will certainly be a welcome diversion.
And, hey, who knows, what with the more defendant-friendly rules of evidence, he might even be acquitted and walk free from his crimes. Or, if he is convicted, he will be able to avail himself of years of appeals of that conviction, while living on in a prison at the expense of this country's taxpayers.
Yessirree, Mr. President, I gotta say it!! Job well done!! Now get busy with that lipstick!!

An Open Letter To President Obama
This letter is an open letter to President Obama, written by respected businessman, Lou Prichett, formerly of Proctor and Gamble. You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support. You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American. You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll. You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core. You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others. You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail. You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America ' crowd and deliver this message abroad. You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector. You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one. You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves. You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world. You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations. You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals. You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people. You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient. You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do. You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view. You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

The Duties Of A Leader
I woke up this morning and read the news that former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, spent the weekend at Fort Hood, visiting the men and women who were wounded this past week and the family members of the wounded and slain soldiers. That is what a true leader does in a time of national tragedy.
But where was President Obama??? Oh, yeah, he was behind closed doors with his partners in crime, twisting arms to get the razor thin margin needed to ram through his unwanted and unnecessary "healthcare reform." For those of you who have been suffering with bouts of BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome), I ask you to clear your minds for one minute and think about this. With the mass murder of our soldiers fresh on the minds of most Americans, where should we expect our Commander-in-Chief to be? I think we all know the answer to that question, deep in our hearts, and we know that, once again, President Barack Hussein Obama has failed another leadership test.
While our heads our now clear, for the moment, let's take a quick look at the past ten months of the Obama presidency.
All of you BDS sufferers are so quick to point out that you think President Bush lied to the American public about the weapons of mass destruction believed to be in Saddam Hussein's possession. Never mind that most members of congress believed that fact, as well as virtually every major intelligence organization in the world. Congress was misled or mistaken. But not President Bush--HE LIED!! Right?!?! Okay, let's pass on that one for a minute and take a look at Obama's record for honesty.
Before his election, President Obama promised a new era of politics, not the same old stuff from the same old people. Once elected, he gave us the same old people in most of the key posts of government. Biden, Clinton, Emmanuel, et al are all well known names in the DC circle of political hacks.
President Obama said we are going to pay as we go...no more deficit spending. Hmmm, I guess our new 2 trillion dollar deficit is not real or else, we were lied to about this.
We were promised that all new legislation would be available on the internet for all citizens at least five days before any votes. Whoops, on the TARP and other bailouts, that didn't happen!!
We were promised complete transparency, not the closed door, Democrats only meetings that have taken place in the last couple of weeks.
Speaker Pelosi pledged that THIS congress would be the most honest in our history. Currently, no less than 16 of its members are under investigaion for dishonest dealings involving unpaid taxes, undeclared income, bribery and other felonies and misdemeanors.
Well, you know the old joke. How do you tell if a politician is lying to you??? His (or her) mouth is moving. This joke has probably never rung truer than with our current administration and congress.
Oh, well, I guess if people are unhappy enough with their current circumstances, they will turn to any leader who can promise them what they want to hear, regardless of whether that leader intends to keep those promises. After all, the citizens of Germany did it back in the 1930's and that worked out pretty well, didn't it??

Oh, well, I guess if people are unhappy enough with their current circumstances, they will turn to any leader who can promise them what they want to hear, regardless of whether that leader intends to keep those promises. After all, the citizens of Germany did it back in the 1930's and that worked out pretty well, didn't it??

The Death Of American Freedom
I just discovered that the House of Representatives has passed healthcare reform legislation by a narrow 220-215 vote. This legislation includes the so-called "Public Option" which will essentially result in the U.S. government taking total control of the health care in this country. Although the Senate has yet to pass this bill, it seems likely at this time that it will eventually pass in some form.
For those of you who love the United States of America, this will be a sad day. Barack Obama and the left wing liberals of the Democratic Party are bent on destroying what America has been for the past 235 years and seem determined to tear it down and re-assemble it in their own warped socialistic image. In America, you will no longer be free from government interference in this very large part of each American's life.
As a young, single healthy person, just starting out in adult life, you will not have the option to pay for medical care as you go. You will be forced to purchase healthcare coverage, or face stiff fines and maybe imprisonment for refusing to do so. That stand may very well be unconstitutional, but prominent members of Congress have already gone on record as stating that many of the things they do are not authorized by the U.S. Constitution, but they just do them anyway.
For elderly Americans, we have been told that there will be no "death panels" to decide who lives and who dies. Well, that may not be what they call the panel ultimately, but there will be decision makers within the government who will decide whether it is cost effective to give an elderly patient affirmative treatment for life threatening conditions as opposed to just giving drugs to ease the pain of dying.
For small business people, such as myself, this decision will mean a combination of rising costs to my clients and/or reducing the rate of pay that I can pay to my employees. Neither of these options is attractive but most small businesses in America will be facing these same tough decisions.
So, who wins with this decision. It would seem that this decision is a positive one for the poorest of our citizens, but did the entire system have to be changed to address the needs of those citizens who do not currently have health care? Do we really need to increase our national debt by another trillion dollars or more? When this economy finally breaks down, as it will in the face of this unrelenting and uncontrolled spending, what will that leave? It will leave an entire country, once the most affluent country in the world, foundering under its own impossible debt load. We will be like some third world country when we can no longer borrow any more money because our dollar will be worth about the same as a sheet of toilet paper, and be about as useful.
I do not honestly know all the ins and outs of this situation and, if the prayers of so many people who love America as she is are answered, then maybe this will not be the end of our great country. Perhaps, the impetus of this move will be what it takes for the American public to rear up on its collective hind legs and say, "Enough is enough!" Let's go to the polls in one short year from now and vote out of the office the traitorous scum who are trying so hard to rape and destroy our beloved United States of America.
All the promises for truth and fiscal responsibility and transparency in government have been just so much bull shit! We are currently in the grasp of one of the most crooked congresses in the history of this great nation. We have tax cheats and lawbreakers serving in high government posts. We have more czars in our government right now than ever ruled over Russia. We have a president who has spent millions in legal fees to see to it that none of his private life becomes public, if only to show that he is a citizen of this country and therefore legally eligible to serve in his current post. We have a congress full of our elected "representatives" who do not represent the very people who have put them into office.
NEW FLASH FOR CONGRESS: When every reputable poll in America says that the American public does not want the kind of healthcare "reform" that the Obama administration is pushing, well then, I guess in a truly representative form of government, the plan should not pass.
I will close with this final thought. We are 360 days away from Election Day 2010. I, and many other Americans, will be doing everything that can be done to see to it that the vast majority of the 220 Representatives who voted for this bill are not around after 2010 to SCREW US ANY FURTHER!! YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED IN THE CONGRESS AND GOOD RIDDANCE TO YOU WHEN YOU ARE GONE!!

Al Gore's Hand in Your Pocket

The Government is gambling with taxpayer money it doesn't have on a car that may never sell.
Gee, wasn’t it Obama who swore to end the influence of lobbyists in government?
So we should believe that Al Gore is not a big, fat lobbyist. It is pure coincidence that the start-up electric car company Gore is invested in and backing got a $529-million U.S. government “loan” to further development of its intended super fuel-efficient hybrid cars.
The first of those cars, humorously called the Karma, will sell for about $90,000. Later the company hopes – Obama’s favorite strategy – that it will be able to build a more affordable $40,000 version, but there aren’t even any plans on the drawing board for it yet. It’s just a thought. Oh, and a bunch of the work on the car is occurring in Finland. As far as I know, Finland has not loaned them $529-million. Perhaps that’s why it’s so tough to find those jobs Obama’s stimulus saved or created – they’re in Finland.
This company, Fisker Automotive, not only has Jolly Green Giant Gore as investor, backer and advocate (ie. lobbyist), its other top investors include major “bundlers” of millions of dollars of campaign donations for Obama. Coincidence abounds.
The car is a pipe dream. If it had legitimate marketplace potential, there’d be no need to gamble on it with taxpayer money. Gore and his buddies are awash in ultra-rich fat-cat investors – their private jets are parked right next to each other.
Do you really want your tax dollars used as gambling ante, so Gore and Friends take less risk, and government bureaucrats get to play venture capitalist? And seriously, an $89,000 hybrid sports car? The specious argument given by Henrik Fisker to The Wall Street Journal (9-25-09) is that a lot of technology starts out very pricey then becomes affordable over time with mass acceptance and volume, like big screen plasma TVs that once sold for $25,000. However, I don’t think we taxpayers ponied up $500-million to invent the whopper TVs.
This isn’t about investing, oops, lending to technology development anyway. This is risking taxpayer money on a start-up car company with a ridiculously high-priced product to be and no dealer network. At some point, this company will be trying to compete with Toyota, Honda, etc., as well as the wounded but still very present Ford, Chrysler and Government Motors, and in luxury sports cars, with the likes of Ferrari. The last time I looked around, by the way, there’s already a highly efficient hybrid car being sold. It’s called the Prius.
This is no more or less than theft of taxpayers’ money to reward campaign contributors and political insiders. It’s a reverse re-distribution of the wealth; money taken out of the paychecks of all those “working people” the Democrats are always blathering about fighting for. That money then goes into the pockets of made-rich-through-politics con artists like Gore and hustlers who raise money for Democrat candidates for this very reason: to have it returned to them a hundred-fold. Further, in this case, we are subsidizing a company with the stated goal of developing luxury cars no “working people” will ever be able to buy.
And need I point out, we don’t have the $529-million we just loaned for this scam? We are broke. Beyond broke. In debt to China and future generations up to our eyeballs. We have to borrow this $529-million in order to loan it out. This is the asinine equivalent of a bankrupt U.S. bank making loans to real estate speculators starting up muskrat ranches. In New Zealand.
If there's honest, legitimate opportunity to develop this kind of car, shouldn't we be loaning the money to an established American car company in which we are already heavily invested and already gambling on – not an upstart competitor? Shouldn't we be racing to beat any new boys like Fisker to the market?
If there is Karma, for which this phony-baloney car is named, then everyone in government, Gore, and the other hustlers involved with this theft and others just like it will come back in their next life as frogs in the Mohave Desert. Born there on a record-breaking, scorchingly-hot day.

The Nuts Are Running The Nuthouse
The San Joaquin Valley in California, one of our nation's most productive farming areas, has been turned into a desert in order to save the Delta Smelt, a 2 inch long fish, very much like a minnow. that has been adversely affected by the pumps that pump water into the fields of the San Joaquin farms. Yep, you hear that right. An area of the country which, by some estimates, produces as much as 12% of the total produce in this nation has been completely cut off from water for irrigation to save the Delta Smelt.
Hey, I like fish as much as anybody. Especially when they are broiled or deep fried, with a little lemon and some tartar sauce and maybe a side of fries. But for the Delta Smelt to be a meal, you would have to have forty or fifty of them and you could pop them in your mouth, two at a time, like popcorn shrimp. Oh, wait, they are an endangered species, so you can't eat them.
Of course, if our food supplies run short; if we decide that saving some piss ant little fish is worth affecting millions of people in the San Joaquin valley, then maybe we will have to eat these little fish until there are none left and then we can have the water turned back on so the farms can start producing food again. In Fresno, the unemployment rate of 15% is 5.3% higher than the rest of the country.
In Congress, there is a possibility of special measures, called the God Squad provision, being taken to declare that the people of that area are in the midst of a financial crisis and that, as such, the Delta Smelt can go extinct, if need be, to save the people and the local economy. However, the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-Lala Land) will not allow such a measure to even come up for a vote.
Yes, the Queen Nut of the House of Representatives is now running the Insane Asylum that we used to call the House of Representatives. President Obama, use your healthcare plan to give Whacko Pelosi her medication so she can get her priorities together and put PEOPLE before FISH!! That is, of course, assuming that YOU do not have your head shoved up the same orifice as our "esteemed" Speaker.
MAYBE WE JUST NEED THE SERVICES OF A GOOD PROCTOLOGIST TO STRAIGHTEN OUT OUR COUNTRY!!

Change Is Not Always Good
On the left, you see a picture of me, circa 1977. Yes, believe it or not, I was not always the rotund fellow that most of you know today. On the right, there is a picture of three great looking guys! I know, I know, too much heat for one picture but steady, girls! I am the more ample hottie in the middle. Quite a change, huh?
I posted these two pictures as a great example of the point I wish to make today. For weeks and weeks, I have heard our president, and many members of the Democratic party, state that the health care system must be changed and therefore, we must accept their plans for a public option and other far reaching, sweeping changes. There basic choice for us is to keep health care as it is, or change it the way they want to change it. My point is that THESE ARE NOT OUR ONLY TWO CHOICES!
YES, we need health care reform in this country and YES, the plan offered by President Obama and the Democrats offers a real change from what we have now. But, is the change being offered automatically better simply because it is change. The two pictures above offer the obvious answer. In 32 years, I went from being a police officer weighing approximately 200 pounds to being my current calorically challenged (is that the right PC way to say FAT?) 500 pound self. That was certainly a definite change, but was that change for the good or not? Most people would agree that my change, although definite, was not a positive change.
Perhaps we can apply this lesson to Obamacare and realize that, just because it is change does not make it good. I would offer to our president the argument that approximately 80-85 % of Americans are satisfied with their health care. Instead of throwing everything out and starting over, why not try to adjust the system to help that 15-20 % of our CITIZENS who do not have satisfactory health care. That would certainly cost less than the overhaul which the Democrats would love to shove down our throat.
And hey, if you want to cut costs, why not start with the billions of dollars that are wasted in defensive medical tests to combat frivolous lawsuits, by enacting REAL TORT REFORM. When a lawyer takes a case on a contingency basis, he/she stands to collect 1/3 to 1/2 of whatever money he can screw out of the plaintiff. The defense attorney loses nothing, other than his/her time if he loses the case, while the plaintiff can go out of pocket for thousands and thousands of dollars before he/she "WINS!" One great change would be to require defense attorneys to pay the same percentage of their contingency back to the plaintiff when the plaintiff prevails. In that case, defense attorneys would be forced to be more realistic in what cases they bring to court, instead of filing one nuisance lawsuit after another, hoping that one in twenty cases will produce a paycheck.
Caps on punitive damages would also go a long way on reducing medical malpractice insurance rates and, therefore, reducing the overall cost of medical care. A lawsuit settlement should not be the equivalent of hitting the Pick 6 Lotto for Life. A realistic settlement for medical mistakes is one thing...Lotto for life is another!
Lastly, how about lifting the ban on healthcare insurance companies selling insurance across state lines. I know in some cases, because of insurance regulation, there may be as few as two or three companies offering coverage in a given state. This practically amounts to a monopoly in some states. Open up these markets and let capitalism and competition do their jobs and the prices for health care will come down.
Yes, we need some changes in our healthcare system. But, as our pictures above have taught us, the change needs to be a good change, or things can, and will, get worse!

THE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER
This one is a little different...
Two Different Versions.......Two Different Morals!
OLD VERSION:
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!
MODERN VERSION:
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long,building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.
CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast.
How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing,
"It's Not Easy Being Green."
Acorn stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, "We Shall Overcome."
Rev. Jeremiah Wright then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.
Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.
Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity and Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar..
The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in (which just happens to be the ant's old house)
crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.
The ant has disappeared in the snow.
The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2010.

Acorn stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, "We Shall Overcome."
Rev. Jeremiah Wright then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.
Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.
Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity and Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar..
The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in (which just happens to be the ant's old house)
crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.
The ant has disappeared in the snow.
The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2010.

It's Sunday...Let's Not Have To Think Too Hard

Some of you will recall that on July 8, 1947, a little over 60 years ago, witnesses claim that an unidentified flying object (UFO)with five aliens aboard crashed onto a sheep and mule ranch just outside Roswell, New Mexico.
This is a well known incident that many say has long been covered up by the U.S. Air Force and other federal agencies and organizations.

The Magical Medicare Pie-A Fairy Tale For Democrats
Once upon a time, there was a pie maker who made all kinds of pies. His name was Barobama and he made many unusual and delicious pies and people came from all over to get their piece of the pie. The pie maker promised everybody that they would get their fair share of pie as long as he was the pie maker. One day, he made a beautiful pie that he named "Healthcare Heaven." Barobama told everyone that this was one of his best pies ever and that everyone would love it. However, some old people complained that Barobama had taken a lot of the ingredients that were used in his "Medicare" pie, a favorite pie of the elderly folk. Because he wanted to use those ingredients, everyone knew that the next "Medicare" pie would have to be much smaller, because he did not have as much of the ingredients as he needed to keep that pie as big as before.
This made all the older people weep and wail and gnash their teeth. "What will we do?", they cried. "We will not be able to get as large a slice of Medicare pie as we would like to have. Woe is us!"
But Barobama heard them lamenting and he told the old people, "Don't cry. I am making the "Medicare" pie with a new magical ingredient. Because this pie will be a magic pie, it does not matter that it will be a smaller pie. There will still be plenty for everybody and the slices will be just as big as it always was. So be happy and rejoice!"
And the old people were happy again, knowing that Barobama was going to make the "Magic Medicare" pie for them. And they did sing and dance in the street and they lived happily, and healthily, ever after.

FAIR--A Four Letter Word For Democrats
I recently wrote about how our dear departed, Senator Ted Kennedy, tried to re-write rules that HE set up with the Massachusetts legislature five years ago. The incredible hypocrisy of this attempt only continues to show how dirty politics have become, and especially so for the Democrats. Yes, FAIR does not seem to be a word that the Democrats want to use during the Obama administration.
Besides the Kennedy incident, Democratic party leaders have recently denounced what they characterized as "organized protests" against proposed healthcare reform legislation. They accused Republicans of busing in protestors and staging the upset at town hall meetings. However, in watching the news, the only busing I've seen is the buses full of pro-Obama supporters who were brought in, with their pre-made signs, to try to pack the town hall meetings full so that legitimate protest could be quelled.
Now, Attorney General Eric Holder has decided to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the CIA and allegations of torture, despite President Obama's public stand against such a move. However, public stand and private position can be different. Any good magician knows that the secret to good sleight of hand is to get your audience to look at your right hand while your left hand does the trick. President Obama is desperate to draw attention away from the health care protests at any cost and this could be one avenue to use.
Finally, in an article posted online today, the Democrats have begun to censor what information Republican members of Congress can send to their constituents. Please read the article below.

An Arizona congressman says liberals on the "Franking Commission" have deliberately tried to censor mail that conservative Republican House members are attempting to send out to their constituents.
Democrats on the bipartisan Commission on Congressional Mailing Standards have been blocking Republicans from sending out franked mailings to constituents that refer to the cap-and-trade bill as "cap and tax," the stimulus bill as the "so-called stimulus," and the healthcare reform bill as "socialized medicine."
Representative Trent Franks (R-Arizona) says the Franking Commission even told him to stop using the phrase "Democratic majority" in his newsletters, and to use "majority" instead.
"For instance, I can say 'the Speaker,' but I can't say 'Speaker Pelosi' because that's too inflammatory. Well, you know, I understand their problem -- they don't want people to really identify the Democratic Party with Nancy Pelosi," he notes. "But the point is, we are forced to change our vernacular and how we say things in order to comport with their attitudes and their way of believing [how] we should say it."
Another Republican member of the House, John Carter of Texas, told Human Events last month the Franking Commission informed him he could not say: "House Democrats unveiled a government-run healthcare plan" -- but instead must use: "The House majority unveiled a public option healthcare plan." That, stated Carter, is "Pelosi-speak."
According to Franks, an honest and open debate would put Democrats' agenda "in dire straits."
"Ironically, we found franked mail sent from Nancy Pelosi that has exactly the same phrases in it, only from the Democrat side when she was in the minority -- exactly the same that she never was censored for," he adds. "But now that they're in the majority, they're censoring the Republican mail."
Franks says for the first time in decades, Republicans have not been able to offer amendments to some of the most critical bills being considered. He points out that Democrats are even trying to create a rule on appropriations bills that would prevent Republicans from offering their amendments.

Hey, Ted, How About Some Fairness?!?!
In what I see as just the latest in a long line of hypocrisy and outright dishonesty, Senator Edward M. (Teddy) Kennedy showed his utter disdain for any sense of honor and honesty in his political dealings.
Within the last several days, Senator Kennedy, who is dying of terminal brain cancer, has attempted to encourage the state legislature of Massachusetts to rescind a four year old law that calls for a special election to replace a Senator who vacates his/her seat prior to the end of his/her term of office. In most states, in such a case, the governor would appoint a replacement to fill out the remainder of the term until the next election. However, in Massachusetts, they chose to take away that power from the governor and put it in the hands of the electorate, who would vote in a special election.
OK, so far, that doesn't sound too bad. Well, at least not until you look into the history of this law. In 2004, Senator John Kerry, the Democratic junior senator from Massachusetts was running for president against George W. Bush. At that time, had Senator Kerry won, then the Republican governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney, would have been called upon to name a successor to fill out the remainder of Sen. Kerry's term. Most likely, this would have meant appointing a Republican as the second senator from Massachusetts.
Senator Kennedy felt that this was not the way to handle the situation so he approached the state legislature and was the impetus behind the law to take the appointment power away from the governor of Massachusetts and instead have a special election. That was 2004.
Now, five years later, Massachusetts has a Democratic governor who would appoint a Democrat to fill Ted Kennedy's seat if he has to step down or dies before his term expires. With that in mind, Senator Kennedy now believes it would be better to change the law back to the governor appointing a replacement, since that appointment would undoubtedly meet with Senator Kennedy's approval.
WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT!! COME ON, TED, I KNOW YOU HAVE BRAIN CANCER, BUT DID IT WIPE OUT ANY SENSE OF FAIRNESS THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE HAD AT ONE TIME?? YOU DON'T CHANGE THE RULES OF THE GAME AS YOU GO ALONG. ANY CHILD OF 5 OR 6 KNOWS THAT CHANGING THE RULES TO SUIT YOUR OWN PERSONAL NEEDS OR AGENDA IS CHEATING, NOTHING MORE.

A Word For PETA
Hey, for a change of pace, I thought I would direct my thoughts toward PETA, the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals.
I was watching The O'Reilly Factor last night and they had a segment on about PETA protesting the McDonald's Happy Meal for little kids. They had a group in front of a McDonalds restaurant handing out FREE UNhappy meals. They pictured Ronald McDonald wielding a large butcher knife, like something out of PSYCHO. They used packets of ketchup to imitate blood on the boxes. It was all pretty sick and disgusting.
Now, I admit that I do not personally subscribe to PETA's ideas. However, I do not begrudge them the right to espouse their message, no matter how foolish I believe it to be. That being said, I, much Like Bill O'Reilly, feel that the WAY they present their message is more damaging to PETA and its ideas than anything else. Their UNhappy Meals simply came across, to me at least, as a weird and twisted way to make a point at the expense of upsetting small children. Alienating children and angering their parents is probably not the best way to win support for your cause. Just something to think about.

It's Still A Pig!
I have been watching the debate over the proposed ObamaCare health plan for over a month now. I have listened carefully to explanations from the President concerning this plan, and estimates from all sides as to how much the plan will cost the taxpayers. I have read and re-read the polls and watched the steadily declining numbers of voters who are in favor of this legislation and the Obama administration in general. I have seen the televised town hall meetings, both the ones that have gotten loud and angry and the ones that have been more civil and less turbulent in their tone.
Mr. President, I believe that the whole situation boils down to one statement that you made during your campaign for president.
You said, "YOU CAN PUT LIPSTICK ON A PIG AND IT WILL STILL BE A PIG!"
I believe that this one statement sums up the totality of the proposed healthcare plan in a very succinct and straightforward manner. President Obama and the liberal left leaders of Congress have ramrodded several expensive bills down the throat of the American public during the 6 1/2 months of his presidency. Most have been done in such a way so that the public really did not have time to review the legislation. Hell, most of the members of Congress did not have time to read some of these bills before a vote was called for. However, in this case, with THIS legislation, the members of Congress and the people that they represent have had some time to read and study the proposed legislation. And with that knowledge, I think that, no matter how much you try to shine up this apple, it is still rotten to the core, and everyone knows it.
Cut your losses, Mr. President and put THIS pig back in the poke!!

What Was That, Mr. President?
I was watching President Barack Obama during a televised town hall meeting from New Hampshire. He was discussing the various aspects of the proposed ObamaCare health care reform plan. One item he brought up was the question of whether private industry would be driven out of business by having to compete with a program run, and backed by, the federal government. He used, as a comparative example, the United States Postal Service (USPS) balanced against the United Parcel Service (UPS) and Federal Express (FedEx). In this comparison, President Obama pointed out that, while UPS and FedEx are doing well, the USPS is billions of dollars in debt. He was, I believe, trying to show that the private companies, FedEx and UPS, were doing fine in competition against the federal government, as represented by USPS.
However, what other point has been made here? Inadvertently, I believe that President Obama also proved that private industry is much more efficient than similar government-run endeavors. Think about the implications of that point in today's atmosphere. While I agree that some problems exist in the current health care system of this country, do you really think that the overall efficiency and cost of healthcare will go down once the government takes it over?!?! If you do, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I can sell you for a great price!!
I cannot honestly think of one industry where the government runs more efficiently than private enterprise. When the feds took over airline security in 2001, it did not get more effective or more efficient. It got longer lines at security checkpoints and it got more expensive by giving the security people federal jobs with federal benefits, but the security did not actually get any better. A recent security audit showed that the vast majority of the sites tested failed to prevent weapons and contraband from getting through the airport.
The purpose to our government should be defense of our nation and protection of our citizens, to allow for an atmosphere where private enterprise can work in a relatively safe environment without fear. The government should focus on that task alone, and allow industry to flourish and the economy to grow. That system has worked in the past and allowed the United States of America to become the wealthiest and most powerful nation in the history of the world. THAT SYSTEM WORKED IN THE PAST AND IT CAN WORK AGAIN, IF THE POLITICIANS WILL ONLY GET OUT OF THE WAY AND QUIT TRYING TO MANAGE EVERYTHING!!

Dear Claire
In the last 48 hours, I have watched, with great interest, the town hall meetings going on around America to discuss healthcare reform. During one meeting, Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) told a loud and angry crowd that she did not understand their anger and shouting. It was all very puzzling to her. So, in the following open letter, I will try to explain to Sen. McCaskill, et al, why these town hall meetings and their participants are so loud and so angry.
Dear Claire:
I thought I would write to you and try to enlighten you, and your 534 colleagues in the U.S. Congress, as to why your recent town meetings have such an air of anger and rudeness to them.
Now, I personally would not be rude to you or any other member of Congress when attending a meeting such as the ones you have attended. As they say, you will catch more flies with honey than vinegar. However, it is clear to me, as a citizen, why people are so angry with you and many of your colleagues. For many years now, and maybe more in the last six months than ever before, the members of Congress, in general, have forgotten why they were sent to Congress. You were elected by the people of your state or legislative district to represent them in the Congress of the United States of America. That is why you are being paid. That is what a representative form of government is all about!!
However, too many members of Congress have concerned themselves more with following the wishes of their party leadership, instead of the wishes of the very people who elected you. This is flat out WRONG!!
Let's look at the last six months, shall we?
The majority said NO to the bank bailouts. CONGRESS PASSED IT ANYWAY!
The majority said NO to the auto bailouts. CONGRESS PASSED IT ANYWAY!
The majority said no to the TARP plan. CONGRESS PASSED IT ANYWAY!
Now, the majority of the American public are voicing their opposition to ObamaCare, but the left wing leaders in Congress are doing everything possible to ram the bill through Congress anyway. Your constituency seemed to make it very clear that they are not in favor of this bill. Are you, Senator McCaskill, going to heed the voices of those who elected you and represent THEIR voice in the Senate, or are you going to vote your party's wishes and ignore the voice of the people.
The general feeling among people in this country seem to be that their representatives no longer REPRESENT THEIR WISHES AND INTERESTS!! Therefore, because of frustration and a need to be heard, they are angry and they are shouting. Although you may find it socially unacceptable, perhaps you can now understand that these emotions are fueled by the frustration of a populace who feel they no longer have any voice in how their government is run. Bear in mind, the whole reason that this country exists is because of the frustration of a people who suffered "TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION." Just as in 1776, the citizens of this great country are no longer willing to sit by quietly and watch the imperious behavior of their "elected representatives" who have forgotten their sworn duties.
It is time, my dear senator, to decide the future of the country as well as your own future. Will you vote as instructed by your party leaders? If so, you will play a part in the further economic and social destruction of this great country. If you do that, your constituents will decide your future for you in November 2010 and it is probable that your future will no longer include a life in politics.

Thank God..uh, er I Mean Goodness For The ACLU!
Recently, at Pace High School, in Santa Rosa County, Florida, The AMerican Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a lawsuit against Pace High School, claiming that some teachers and administrators were allowing students to PRAY IN SCHOOL!! In fact, according to Bill O'Reilly, prayer was "RUNNING RAMPANT" in that school! Boy, are we lucky that the ACLU was there!! Just imagine what horrible things could happen when prayer is allowed to run rampant within a school. Gee, before you know it, people might actually begin to get along better, drug usage might go down, teen pregnancies might go down and school shootings could possibly be eliminated altogether. Where would we be THEN?!?!
But don't worry, the situation is under control. Pace High School, rather than fight the suit, gave into the ACLU and entered into a consent decree, promising NO MORE PRAYING!! Good for them!! God loves gutless wonders!! But then, lo and behold, along comes the principal, Frank Lay, and the Athletic Director, Robert Freeman, who decided that their religious beliefs and faithfulness to God was more important than any consent decree. THOSE IGNORANT BASTARDS!!! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!?!
But, again, DON'T WORRY...the authorities have the matter in hand. The judge in this matter, whose name was not given, is really angry and is having both these men charged with criminal contempt, a charge for which they could be fined and/or jailed. I, FOR ONE, AM CERTAINLY RELIEVED THAT LAW AND ORDER IS IN SUCH FINE FORM HERE. YES, IT DOES MY HEART GOOD!
OK, enough sarcasm. Yes, sadly, the above story is true. In one case, Principal Lay asked Director Freeman to offer the blessing for a meal served at an honorary luncheon in celebration for some of the athletic achievements of that school year. On another occasion, a clerical worker at a different event asked her husband, who was not a school employee, to offer the blessing for another meal.
A legal question comes up immediately in my mind. Since when did Pace High School, or any other government entity, have the right to enter into ANY kind of agreement with the ACLU which would override an individual's right of free speech and free exercise of religion, even in a school!! MAYBE THAT KIND OF LEGAL RULING IS ONE OF THE REASONS THAT ARE SCHOOL SYSTEMS ARE FAILING SO MISERABLY!! We are, apparently, OK with teen sex running rampant in our schools. We turn a blind eye to the fact that our students graduate from high school without being able to read and write at an acceptable level. We encourage the exploration of alternative lifestyles, such as homosexuality and promiscuity and, in some cases, downright perversion. Even Muslims are allowed to have prayer time in school, as is called for in their religion. Only Christians are subject to this type of prosecution. Oh, did I say prosecution...I MEANT PERSECUTION!!
I love God and His Son, My Savior, Jesus Christ. I try my best to follow the teachings of Jesus and to worship God each and every day. I do not mind if you do not believe what I believe. That is your right. But your right to not believe should not extend to the point where I am not allowed to exercise my belief!! That is not what America was founded on.
They say that the judge in the case down in Florida is really angry at the criminal contempt that he says these two men have shown by exercising their God given rights to worship. Well, Judge (please note I did not say "your Honor" because it is obvious that you HAVE NO HONOR!) I will go on record right now by saying not only do I have criminal contempt for your ruling, I have total and complete contempt for you and any other judge who is going to prosecute an American for giving thanks to God!
In closing, I can only say that I take solace in knowing that SOMEDAY this judge will stand in judgement before THE JUDGE and he can try to explain his conduct then!! Good Luck "Your Honor!"
