Something To Consider

I received this editorial cartoon as part of an email this morning. After my initial laugh, I took pause to consider the deeper thought behind this cartoon and I realized how "dead on" this little joke was when it came to telling what is really being done in his country today.

Yes, America has always been "the land of plenty." But I have never heard it referred to as "the
land of infinity!" To paraphrase a few lines from the movie "55 Days At Peking", let us say that the United States has always appeared to be a cow with an unlimited supply of milk. However, now our elected representatives are no longer satisfied with just squeezing every last drop out of our "cow", they would like to start butchering her to get a few steaks, too.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! NO MORE PORK SPENDING AND MONSTER BAILOUTS AND GIVEAWAYS! WE HAVE GOT TO GIVE OUR "ECONOMIC COW" SOME TIME TO REST, RECUPERATE AND RENEW HER STRENGTH AND MILK SUPPLY OR THE END RESULT WILL BE THE DEATH OF HER.

If that is allowed to happen, then R.I.P. AMERICA and may God have mercy on our souls!

GM is closing 15 plants for 9 weeks. Workers will receive 70% of their pay during the shutdown. As Yakov Smirnoff would say "what a country!". Taxpayers are subsidizing all of GM's losses, so that means we are also paying GM workers 70% of their pay while they are not working. That's on top of guaranteeing their pensions.
